Winter

	Snowshoeing If you put on snowshoes, all the snowy ways are no problem for you. You can rent Snowshoes at our reception in the mainbuilding and enjoy the beautiful nature next door. If you want to walk along marked trails we can recommend the trails in Rättvik (1h). At the end of january there also take place the Siljan Snowshoe race, Sweden’s largest competition. We also rent snowshoes for 130 SEK a day!
	Skiing Dalarnas ski region is the biggest in northern Europe. The most famous ski regions in this area are Sälen (1h), Idre (2h 20min) und Romme (1h 45min). Around 300 ski slopes with various levels of difficulty for beginners to professionals are waiting for you.
	Cross-country skiing Dalarna includes many top cross-country skiing areas. Whether Sälenfjällen (1h), Lugner outside of Falun (1h 40min), where the national cross-country skiing team from Sweden trains, or Gyllenbergen near Borlänge (1h 45min), the selection is large. Along the trails there are information maps and possibilities to eat and drink something. Vasaloppet is the oldest and longest cross-country ski race in the world. The first race was in 1922, since then hundreds of thousands of skiers have started the race of 90 km from Sälen to Mora.
	Land of Christmas Near from Mora, at the Gesundaberget is the home of Santa Claus! In Tomteland you will find a world of fantasy; elves, faries, goblins, witches and trolls are living in this world full of magic. Maybe you see Santa Claus doing his work, or you can leave him a letter with all your wishes for next christmas. In winter, but also in summer, Tomteland is always worth for a visit.
	Snowmobile Whether guided tours or exploring by yourselfs, the snowmobile is an indispensable vehicle in winter. You have for sure seen sometimes the red crosses next to the street, which marks the uncountable snowmobile trails in Sweden. The ski area Sälen, Idre Fjäll, Stöten or Älvdalen are popular areas for guided snowmobile tours ore of course the area next to our door.
	Waterpark The Experium in the ski area Lindvallen (1h) is a leisure center and includes an action pool with an indoor surfing system FlowRider®, a spa with exclusive beauty treatments, sauna, relaxing rooms and fitness center. There are also many restaurants, shopping possibilities, a 3D-cinema and a bowling center.
